C61400 is an aluminum-bronze with excellent mechanical properties and ductility. Suitable for high load applications and high pressure vessel construction. The alloy can also be used in easily corroded or corrosive processes or applications. Aluminum bronze has higher ductility than nickel-aluminum bronze and is cold worked to significantly improve mechanical properties. The C61400 maintains its performance at low temperatures, dropping to -452ºF (-269ºC).
It is a precision forged alloy with high performance consistency, small equiaxed crystal structure and low cost volume detection. In addition, representative samples are taken to accurately analyze the properties of materials and components.
Forged aluminum-bronze alloys have excellent ductility. It is commonly used for wear plates that exceed the limits of rectangular aluminum bronze rods. C61400 is also recommended for corrosive applications. C61400 plate has resistance to grain boundary stress cracking. This is done by adding a small amount of tin to the ingredients. C614 plates are used for manufacturing too large to relieve stress or for field construction and welding. In these applications, the C61400 plate is free from the risk of stress corrosion cracking. The C61400 board simplifies field maintenance. Welding is convenient, without any electrical process, no preheating or post-heating, no hot short crack.
